NTPC Limited has announced that its joint venture, NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for an additional 5 MW capacity at the Maroda Reservoir-I Solar Power Project in Bhilai during January 2026. This incremental addition is part of the total 15 MW project. Following this declaration, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group has increased to 87,809 MW, with the total commercial capacity now standing at 86,729 MW.

NTPC Limited hereby informs stakeholders regarding the operational status update received from NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), a joint venture of NTPC. NSPCL has officially intimated the declaration of the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for a newly commissioned segment of its solar portfolio.
Project Details and Capacity Addition
The declaration pertains to an additional 5 MW capacity addition at the Maroda Reservoir-I Solar Power Project, which is located at Bhilai. This 5 MW is a component of the overall 15 MW capacity planned for this specific solar facility. The COD for this additional capacity was achieved in the month of January 2026.
Impact on Group Capacity
With the successful commissioning of this 5 MW solar capacity, the cumulative installed and commercial capacity figures for the entire NTPC group have been updated. The total installed capacity of the NTPC group now stands at 87,809 MW. Concurrently, the total declared commercial capacity of the group has risen to 86,729 MW as of the reporting date.
