NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), which operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has finalized a significant agreement for renewable energy derivatives. On March 30, 2026, NTPC REL executed a Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI).
This arrangement is critical as it falls under the ambit of the SIGHT Scheme, which is part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission established by the Government of India. The execution of this GAPA represents a significant milestone for NGEL’s growing portfolio in Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia sectors.
Supply Details and Offtake Partner
The agreement mandates the supply of 70,000 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum) of Green Ammonia. This volume is slated for delivery by NTPC REL to M/s Krishna Phoschem Limited. The destination for the supply is the facility located at Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. SECI will serve as the intermediary procurer for this transaction.
NTPC Green Energy Limited stated that the finalization of this agreement strongly reinforces the company’s dedication to supporting India’s national decarbonization goals through large-scale renewable energy projects and related products.
