NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has declared the commercial operation of a 165 MW capacity unit from its Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat. This addition, effective from March 19, 2026, is part of a larger 1200 MW project managed by its subsidiary. This capacity boost increases the NGEL Group’s total installed capacity to 9,727.68 MW, up from the previous 9,562.68 MW.

Declaration of Commercial Operation

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has officially announced the commencement of commercial operations for a significant portion of its renewable energy assets. Specifically, the fourth part capacity of 165 MW from the 1200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project has been declared operational.

This commercial milestone took effect from 00:00 hrs on March 19, 2026. The Khavda-II Solar PV Project is strategically located in the state of Gujarat.

Impact on Total Capacity

This recent commissioning leads to an immediate upward revision in the installed capacity figures for the NGEL Group. Prior to this addition, the current commercial capacity stood at 9,562.68 MW. Following the integration of the new 165 MW unit, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increased to 9,727.68 MW.
