NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the successful commencement of commercial operation for a 243.66 MW part capacity of its 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, effective December 17, 2025. This addition increases NGEL’s total installed capacity to 7,889.335 MW, marking a significant step in the company’s renewable energy portfolio.

NTPC Green Energy Limited’s 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project, located in Gujarat, has achieved a major milestone. A portion of the project, specifically 243.66 MW, has commenced commercial operation effective 00:00 hrs of December 17, 2025. This development is part of the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III.
Expanded Renewable Capacity
With the addition of the 243.66 MW capacity, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group now stands at 7,889.335 MW. The current commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group is at 7645.675 MW. This solar project underscores NTPC Green Energy Limited’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint.
