NTPC Green Energy Limited announced the declaration of Commercial Operation for a 91.6 MW solar capacity component located in Andhra Pradesh. This capacity belongs to a 250 MW Solar PV project managed by a subsidiary, Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited. The commercial operation commenced retrospectively on February 27, 2026. This addition increases the Group’s total installed capacity to 9292.68 MW, up from the existing 9201.08 MW.
Declaration of Commercial Operation
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has formally declared the commercial operation of a significant portion of its solar portfolio. This information was provided based on a certificate received from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) dated March 9, 2026.
Project Details and Capacity Addition
The newly operational capacity is 91.6 MW, representing the second part of a larger 250 MW Solar PV Project. This facility is situated in Andhra Pradesh and is being executed through Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited, which is a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd., itself a wholly owned subsidiary of the joint venture, ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited.
The commercial operation date (COD) for this 91.6 MW segment is effective from February 27, 2026. It is noted that the first part capacity of 158.4 MW from the same project was previously informed via a disclosure on February 20, 2026.
Impact on Total Installed Capacity
With the addition of this new capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has seen a notable increase.
