NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced the commencement of commercial operation for a portion of its Khavda Solar Energy Project. The project includes the fourth part capacity of 37.95 MW. With this addition, the group’s total installed capacity increases to 7553.675 MW. Several parts of the project have already been declared commercial earlier this year.
Khavda Solar Project Update
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has declared commercial operation for an additional capacity of its Khavda Solar Energy Project located in Khavda, Bhuj, Gujarat. This involves the fourth part capacity, contributing 37.95 MW out of the total 300 MW capacity planned for this phase of the project.
Commercial Operation Details
The commercial operation is effective from 19.10.2025. This follows previous declarations of commercial operation for other parts of the same project. Specifically, the first part capacity of 142.2 MW, the second part capacity of 32.8 MW, and the third part capacity of 49.125 MW had been declared on 28.06.2025, 30.06.2025, and 22.08.2025, respectively. The total declared capacity is now 262.075 MW.
Impact on Total Capacity
The current commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Limited Group now stands at 7515.725 MW. After this addition, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group is expected to rise to 7553.675 MW.
