NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced the commencement of commercial operations for a 95.75 MW part capacity of the 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, effective October 18, 2025. This addition will increase the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group to 7515.725 MW, further strengthening NTPC’s renewable energy portfolio.
Khavda-I Solar Project Update
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has declared commercial operation for a portion of its solar power capacity. The project is located in Gujarat and represents a significant step in expanding NTPC’s renewable energy footprint.
Operational Capacity Details
A part capacity of 95.75 MW out of the larger 1255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project has been successfully commissioned and is now operational. This project falls under the CPSU scheme Phase-II Tranche-III.
Impact on Total Capacity
As of the current announcement, the commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stands at 7419.975 MW. The addition of this 95.75 MW will result in an increase in the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group to 7515.725 MW. The commercial operation is effective from October 18, 2025.
