Commercial Operation Commences
Unit-2, with a capacity of 660 MW, of the 1,980 MW Ghatampur Thermal Power Project, has achieved Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) effective from 00:00 hours on December 09, 2025.
Impact and Future Plans
With Unit-2 operational, the project now has a total of 1,320 MW under commercial operation. The company anticipates completion of the third and final unit within FY 2025-26, which will bring the total capacity to 1,980 MW. This project is a joint venture between NLC India Limited (51%) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) (49%), and enhances power supply to the states of Uttar Pradesh and Assam.
