NHPC Limited has announced the successful commissioning of Unit #2 of the Subansiri Lower HE Project, located in Assam/Arunachal Pradesh. This 250 MW unit began commercial operation on December 23, 2025. The 2000 MW (8 x 250 MW) project marks a significant step forward. Subansiri Project Update
NHPC Limited announced that Unit #2 of the Subansiri Lower HE Project has successfully achieved Commercial Operation (CoD). The announcement was made on December 21, 2025.
Operational Commencement
Unit #2, with a capacity of 250 MW, commenced operations on December 23, 2025, at 00:00 hours. The Subansiri Lower HE Project has a total capacity of 2000 MW (8 x 250 MW) and is located in Assam/Arunachal Pradesh.
Future Updates
NHPC Limited has stated that information regarding the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the remaining units within the Subansiri Lower HE Project will be disclosed as they become available.
