NBCC (India) Limited has recently been issued orders from CGST authorities relating to demands for tax, penalty, and interest under the Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017. The company is taking the necessary steps to appeal these orders.

Overseas Work Implications

Financial Implications and Action

One order specifies a tax demand of Rs. 8,21,75,092, a penalty of Rs. 82,17,509, and interest of Rs. 5,52,35,169 related to SCN issued for FY 2021-22. The other order involves a total demand (including interest and penalty) of Rs. 14,56,27,770.

NBCC is currently in the process of filing appeals against the orders and, based on its assessment, does not anticipate any material impact on its financial, operational, or other business activities.

Reasons for Delayed Disclosure

The CGST orders were received between December 26, 2025, and December 31, 2025. Upon receipt, the company initiated an examination in line with its internal governance framework.

This involved an assessment of materiality, verification of tax, interest, and penalty, an examination of the underlying facts related to the overseas project execution and consultations with tax advisors and functional departments.

The company disclosed the information to the stock exchanges on January 20, 2026, after completing the assessment process.
