NBCC (India) Limited High-Level Delegation from Seychelles Visits for Infrastructure Discussions

NBCC (India) Limited hosted a high-level delegation led by the Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Sebastien Pillay, at its New Delhi headquarters on February 23, 2026. Discussions centered on developing approximately 139 Acres of island infrastructure in Seychelles, including social housing, leisure, and hospitality facilities. The visit reinforced the strong bilateral partnership between India and Seychelles, building on previous discussions and showcasing NBCC’s capabilities, notably the successful 2000 Social Housing Project in the Maldives.

On February 23, 2026, NBCC (India) Limited welcomed a high-level delegation from the Republic of Seychelles, led by Vice President H.E. Mr. Sebastien Pillay, at its headquarters in New Delhi. The meeting involved detailed discussions with Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC, concerning major infrastructure development projects in the island nation.

Proposed Island Infrastructure Development

Comprehensive presentations were delivered to the delegation outlining plans for the infrastructure development across an area spanning approximately 139 Acres of an island. The proposed development is slated to incorporate several key components, including affordable social housing, leisure & hospitality services, premium villas, a sports arena, and other essential social infrastructure elements.

Building on Bilateral Cooperation

This visit serves as a significant follow-up to earlier deliberations held by the CMD, NBCC, with the Government of Seychelles in January of this year. The delegation was also briefed on NBCC’s successful track record, specifically highlighting the execution of the 2000 Social Housing Project at Hulhumale, Maldives, where skilled workforce and construction materials from India played a vital role.

The Vice President and the visiting delegation expressed their confidence in NBCC’s capabilities and appreciation for the presented plans. The CMD, NBCC, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions and emphasized deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.

Current Commitments in Seychelles

Currently, NBCC is engaged in executing significant projects within Seychelles, including the construction of the Indian Chancery Building, a Cultural Centre, and associated Residential Units. These ongoing projects reflect India’s sustained commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and its development partnership with Seychelles.
