National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a Government of India Undertaking, has formally announced a change in its executive responsibilities. Effective March 03, 2026, Shri Mahesh Chander Gupta, who currently serves as Director (Marketing), has been assigned the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance).
Term and Conditions
The term of this additional assignment is stipulated to last for a period of three months with immediate effect, or until the regular incumbent joins the position, or until further orders are issued, whichever event occurs the earliest. This appointment is subject to the requisite approval from the Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT) concerning the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Profile of Shri Mahesh Chander Gupta
Shri Gupta is a highly experienced professional, bringing over 30 years of experience to this dual role. Prior to joining NFL’s Board as Director (Marketing), he served as the Chief General Manager (Business Development – Gas) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), where he managed Natural Gas Sourcing and Marketing.
Key Qualifications and Focus Areas
Academically, Shri Gupta is a Management Graduate from FMS, Udaipur, and a Cost & Management Accountant (Gold Medallist). In his new capacity overseeing Finance, he is tasked with several key strategic pillars for NFL:
- Spearheading the expansion of NFL’s business portfolio using Differentiated Products to attain Market Leadership.
- Working towards Energy Transition, Sustainability, and Globalization initiatives.
- Driving Strategic Diversification with the ambition of achieving Self Sufficiency in Urea Production.
The announcement confirming the mandate was issued by the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, via Order No. 82/3/2013-HR PSU.
