KPI Green Energy Limited Company Reaches 589 MWp Operational Capacity with New 35 MWp Energization

KPI Green Energy Limited announced it has successfully energized an additional 35 MWp of solar capacity, pushing its total operational Independent Power Producer (IPP) capacity to 589 MWp. The company remains on track to commission an additional 1,582 MWp, expanding the total IPP portfolio to 2.17 GWp. This move highlights the company’s strategic shift toward an asset-backed IPP model supported by long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Operational Capacity Milestone Reached

KPI Green Energy Limited has successfully energized an additional 35 MWp of solar capacity. This milestone brings the company’s total operational Independent Power Producer (IPP) capacity to 589 MWp as of March 12, 2026. With projects currently in hand, the Company confirms it is well positioned to commission an additional 1,582 MWp, which will expand the total IPP portfolio to 2.17 GWp.

This growing portfolio is underpinned by a robust annuity revenue stream secured through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), many of which extend up to 25 years. This strategic focus reinforces KPI Green’s transition into an asset-backed IPP model.

Key IPP Project Developments

200 MW/240 MWp Khavda Solar IPP Project

The Company successfully commissioned and began injecting power from its 200 MW (240 MWp) solar IPP project situated in the Khavda Solar Park (South Block) in January 2026. This project is operating under a long-term PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

50 MW/92.15 MWp Hybrid Renewable Energy IPP

KPI Green achieved grid synchronization and power injection ahead of the scheduled July 2026 commercial operation date for its 92.15 MWp hybrid project. This facility comprises 16.95 MW of wind capacity and 75.2 MWp of solar capacity.

620 MW/917 MWp Hybrid Renewable Energy IPP

In October 2024, the Company executed two long-term PPAs with GUVNL:

  • 250 MW/275 MWp grid-connected solar IPP project: The company has commissioned 48.4 MW / 69.41 MWp capacity on a phased basis under its 250 MW/350 MWp solar IPP project. Remaining capacity completion is targeted by the October 2026 timeline.
  • 370 MW/642 MWp grid-connected hybrid IPP project: This capacity is under active execution, also targeted for completion within the October 2026 timeline.

Entry into Utility-Scale Energy Storage

445 MW / 890 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

KPI Green has entered the utility-scale energy storage sector via its subsidiary, Sun Drops Energia Limited. The subsidiary executed a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with GUVNL for 445 MW / 890 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems. This move enhances the Company’s capability to integrate renewable generation with advanced grid-stability solutions.
