JSW Steel Consolidated Crude Steel Production Up 6% YoY in Q3 FY26

JSW Steel reported a 6% YoY increase in consolidated crude steel production for Q3 FY26, reaching 7.48 million tonnes. However, production saw a 5% QoQ decrease. A planned shutdown for capacity upgrades at the Vijayanagar facility impacted capacity utilization, which stood at approximately 85%. Excluding the shutdown, utilization would have been around 93%. The company’s production in India saw an increase of 7% YoY.

Crude Steel Production Overview

JSW Steel announced its consolidated crude steel production for Q3 FY26. The total production reached 7.48 million tonnes, representing a 6% increase compared to the same quarter last year. The production volume also reflects a 5% drop compared to Q2 FY26.

Production Details

Here’s a breakdown of JSW Steel’s production:

  • Indian Operations: 7.28 million tonnes in Q3 FY26, compared to 6.82 million tonnes in Q3 FY25, a 7% increase.
  • JSW Steel USA – Ohio: 0.20 million tonnes in Q3 FY26.
  • Consolidated Production: 7.48 million tonnes in Q3 FY26, versus 7.03 million tonnes in Q3 FY25, a 6% increase.

Impact of Vijayanagar Shutdown

The ongoing shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 (BF3) at the Vijayanagar facility, which began at the end of September 2025, for capacity upgrades affected the overall capacity utilization. The shutdown is expected to be completed by the end of Q4 FY26. Capacity utilization for Indian operations, excluding the BF3 impact, would have been approximately 93%, while including BF3, it stood at 85%.

9M FY26 Production Volume

The production volume for the first nine months of FY26 is as follows:

  • Indian Operations: 21.97 million tonnes, a 12% increase over 9M FY25.
  • JSW Steel USA – Ohio: 0.68 million tonnes.
  • Consolidated Production: 22.65 million tonnes, a 12% increase over 9M FY25.
