JSW Energy Q3 FY26 Results Show Strong Profit Growth

JSW Energy announced strong Q3 FY26 results, with net generation up 65% YoY, driven by recent acquisitions and organic growth. EBITDA increased by 98% YoY to ₹2,202 Cr, and reported PAT rose by 150% YoY to ₹420 Cr. The company is expanding renewable capacity and is committed to sustainability and community empowerment.

Financial Performance Highlights

JSW Energy reported a significant increase in power sales volumes, up 65% YoY. Net Generation increased substantially due to contributions from Mahanadi, Utkal Unit-II, and LT tie-ups at Vijayanagar, along with organic wind capacity additions and O2 power. Thermal generation increased by 55% YoY, while RE generation surged by 96% YoY.

The company’s EBITDA increased by 98% YoY to ₹2,202 Cr, and reported PAT increased by 150% YoY to ₹420 Cr. The robust performance was largely due to the contributions from acquired assets, especially the Mahanadi thermal plant and the O2 portfolio.

Operational Achievements

JSW Energy’s installed capacity reached 13.3 GW, including the addition of 125 MW of organic renewable capacity. Commissioning of India’s largest Green Hydrogen plant at Vijayanagar, with a capacity of 3,800 TPA, marks a milestone in sustainable energy production.

Strategic Updates

The company signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Karnataka DISCOMs for 400 MW of power from the Utkal Thermal Plant, starting April 1, 2026. A PPA with West Bengal Discom was also secured for a 1,600 MW greenfield thermal power project, increasing the site’s total under-construction capacity to 3,200 MW.

Shareholder approval was received for a ₹3,000 Crore preferential issue of equity shares to the promoter group.

Capacity and Growth

JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity is targeted to reach 30 GW by 2030, through a mix of thermal, wind, solar, hydro, and hybrid projects. Significant capacity additions are planned through under-construction and pipeline projects.

Debt and Leverage

The company maintains a healthy balance sheet with a focus on pursuing future growth opportunities. The Net Debt to Equity ratio stands at 2.2x.
