JSW Dulux Limited provided an update concerning ongoing litigation with the Telangana GST Department, as mandated by disclosure requirements. This notice follows the receipt of an Appeal Order on March 13, 2026, concerning an earlier demand issued by the Department on September 2, 2024, pertaining to the financial years 2020-21 & 2021-22.
Details of the Initial Demand and Appeal Order
The initial order from the Telangana GST Department involved the disallowance of input tax credit under Section 73 of the CGST/SGST Act, 2017, resulting in an initial aggregate demand of Rs. 1,50,72,533/-. This included a tax component of Rs. 1,36,31,472/-.
In response to the initial order, the company filed an appeal. The Additional Commissioner (Appeals-II) Hyderabad subsequently reviewed the case and issued the Appeal Order on February 26, 2026, received by the Company on March 13, 2026. The revised demand aggregated to Rs. 1,50,31,077/-. This revised amount comprises a tax component of Rs. 1,36,29,593/-, along with applicable interest and a penalty component of Rs. 14,01,484/-.
Current Status
The announced Appeal Order allows for further submissions to relevant authorities. The Company confirms that it is currently preparing to respond to the authorities within the indicated timeframe for the ongoing proceedings.
