JK Cement Announces 6 MnTPA Capacity Expansion, Including Prayagraj Unit

JK Cement has announced a 6 MnTPA capacity expansion, including 1 MnTPA at its Prayagraj unit. The expansion includes brownfield clinker capacity and cement grinding capacity at Panna, Hamirpur, and Prayagraj. A greenfield cement grinding capacity in Bihar will also be established. JK Cement commissioned a 1.00 MnTPA cement grinding facility at JK Cement Works, Prayagraj. The Prayagraj unit’s capacity now stands at 3.00 MnTPA.

Capacity Expansion Details

JK Cement’s Board of Directors approved a 6 MnTPA capacity expansion on January 20, 2024. This expansion includes:

  • Brownfield expansion of clinker capacity by 3.3 MnTPA (Design – 10,000 TPD, Potential – 12,000 TPD).
  • Cement grinding capacity expansion by 3 MnTPA at Panna, Hamirpur, and Prayagraj (1 MnTPA each).
  • A 3 MnTPA greenfield cement grinding capacity in Bihar.

The projects are to be commissioned in phases over 24 months from the start of work at site.

Prayagraj Unit Commissioning

JK Cement has commissioned a 1.00 MnTPA cement grinding facility at JK Cement Works, Prayagraj. This increases the Prayagraj unit’s installed capacity from 2.00 MnTPA to 3.00 MnTPA.

Overall Production Capacity

With this expansion, the Company’s overall grey cement production capacity now stands at 26.26 MnTPA (including capacity of its subsidiary company).
