Operational Disruptions and Recovery Efforts

The CEO of IndiGo, Pieter Elbers, acknowledged severe operational disruptions over the past few days, with December 5th being the most impacted day, resulting in over 1,000 cancellations. The airline has apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers due to delays and cancellations and outlined three lines of action to address the situation:

  1. Customer Communication: Enhancing communication through social media and providing detailed information on refunds and cancellations. Call center capacity has also been increased.
  2. Assisting Stranded Customers: Prioritizing the travel arrangements for customers stranded at major airports and advising those with cancelled flights not to come to the airport.
  3. Crew and Plane Alignment: Implementing cancellations to realign crew and planes for a fresh start the following morning.
