IndusInd Bank has appointed Mr. Balaji Narayanamurthy as its new Chief Data Officer, effective December 1, 2025. He will be part of the Senior Management Personnel of the Bank. Mr. Narayanamurthy brings over two and half decades of experience in Banking, Analytics, Data science, Technology and Artificial intelligence.
Appointment of Chief Data Officer
Mr. Balaji Narayanamurthy has joined IndusInd Bank as the Chief Data Officer, effective December 1, 2025. He will also serve as part of the Senior Management Personnel of the Bank.
Experience and Expertise
Mr. Narayanamurthy brings over two and a half decades of experience in Banking, Analytics, Data Science, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence to IndusInd Bank.
Previous Roles
Before joining IndusInd Bank, Mr. Narayanamurthy served as President & Head of the Business Intelligence Unit and Head of Enterprise AI at Axis Bank. He also served as a member of the Board for Freecharge Payment Technologies Ltd.
Prior Experience in the US
Prior to his association with the Indian Banking sector, Mr. Narayanamurthy spent nearly 10 years in the USA credit card business, where he worked with Barclay Card US as Group Director of Analytics and held leadership roles at Capital One. He started his career as a Management Associate at Citi Bank, India.
Education
Mr. Narayanamurthy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Chennai and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Lucknow.
