Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA) has announced that the remaining two furnaces at its newly acquired Ferro Chrome Plant in Kalinganagar, Odisha, have been successfully switched on and commenced operations as of March 16, 2026. This development follows an earlier communication regarding the site. This full operationalization marks a significant milestone in integrating the acquired asset, boosting the company’s overall chrome production capacity in the region.
Operational Milestone Achieved
Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) issued a formal disclosure on 16th March 2026 providing an update on its recently acquired assets. The company is pleased to confirm that the other two furnaces located at the Ferro Chrome Plant in Kalinganagar, Dist: Jajpur, Odisha, have been successfully switched on today.
Full Plant Commissioning
This activation means that these furnaces have now commenced their operations. This follows a previous intimation made to the exchanges on 11th March 2026. The full commissioning of all operational units at the Kalinganagar facility represents a significant step in leveraging the capacity of the newly acquired plant, thereby enhancing IMFA’s overall production capabilities in ferro-alloys.
