The platform utilizes the Gemini family of models and is designed to improve efficiencies across the patient journey by supporting clinical, administrative, and financial processes. The announcement was made in advance of the annual HLTH conference.
Key Features and Benefits
The new platform is a generative AI-based, multi-agent system that detects when prior authorization is required. It uses deep domain expertise and proprietary human-in-the-loop technology to ensure accuracy, speed, scalability, and compliance. The system aims to improve workflows, including ambient documentation, charting, coding, order capture, claim submissions, and prior authorizations directly with insurers. The goal is to reduce documentation burden, enhance patient access to care, and free up clinicians and care teams.
Agentic AI with Human-in-the-Loop
The platform leverages the scaling and advanced AI capabilities of Google Cloud, including the Gemini family of models, Agent Development Kit (ADK), and Vertex AI. It is estimated that the Al agents can autonomously handle up to 80 percent of routine, repetitive tasks, such as those involved in insurance approvals and document processing.
The system incorporates a human-in-the-loop model to ensure that IKS Health agents review and oversee the AI’s actions when medically necessary, maintaining clinical safety and accuracy.
