HUDCO Signs MoU with Chhattisgarh Government for ₹1 Lakh Crore Housing Projects

Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Chhattisgarh to provide financial assistance of up to ₹1,00,000.00 Crore for housing and infrastructure projects. The MoU, signed on January 7, 2026, aims to facilitate the execution of various projects in the State of Chhattisgarh over the next five years.

Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Chhattisgarh. This agreement was signed on January 7, 2026, in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Financial Commitment and Project Scope

Under the terms of this non-binding MoU, HUDCO is committed to potentially providing financial assistance up to ₹1,00,000.00 Crore (Rupees One Lakh Crore). This substantial funding is earmarked for the execution of diverse housing and infrastructure projects within the State of Chhattisgarh over the subsequent five years.

Project Categories

The financial assistance is allocated across several key sectors:

  • Housing: ₹10,000.00 Crore
  • Infrastructure (including water supply, sewerage, drainage, roads, electricity, smart cities): ₹70,000.00 Crore
  • Power Projects: ₹10,000.00 Crore
  • Renewable and other projects: ₹10,000.00 Crore

Total: ₹1,00,000.00 Crore

Key Terms of the MoU

The MoU facilitates the submission of loan proposals by independent agencies of the Chhattisgarh government. HUDCO will consider financial assistance via term loans, adhering to its established policies, and subject to compliance with norms and the availability of adequate loan security. The terms and conditions of each loan will be mutually decided on a case-by-case basis.

This agreement is effective from the date of signing and remains valid until the end of Financial Year 2029-30, with the possibility of extension. It represents an in-principle arrangement, with individual project sanctions contingent upon HUDCO’s due diligence and agreement on specific terms.
