Hindustan Zinc Limited announced a strategic partnership with CMR Green Technologies Ltd. for establishing a high-quality, low-emission zinc alloy manufacturing facility at Zinc Park, Rajasthan. This collaboration, formalized via an MoU on March 10, 2026, strengthens Zinc Park as India’s first integrated zinc ecosystem. The project emphasizes sustainable metal processing, circular economy principles, and supports India’s goal of self-reliance in industrial materials, particularly for the automotive sector.
Strategic Alliance for Zinc Alloy Production
Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CMR Green Technologies Ltd., India’s leading non-ferrous metal recycling company. This partnership is focused on establishing a new manufacturing facility dedicated to producing high-quality, low-emission zinc alloys within HZL’s Zinc Park in Rajasthan.
This marks the second major partnership for Zinc Park, building on its position as India’s first integrated ecosystem for zinc-based industrial applications. The alloys produced will be critical for sectors like automotive, infrastructure, and die-casting, driving downstream value addition for zinc.
Zinc Park: Vision and Ecosystem Benefits
Zinc Park, jointly developed by HZL and RIICO, aims to be a fully integrated, renewable energy-powered hub for zinc manufacturing. Its proximity to HZL’s major operational sites ensures reliable raw material supply.
The development aligns with Rajasthan’s push for industrial growth and aims to host enterprises involved in galvanizing, die-casting, and zinc oxide production. The initiative provides assured raw material linkage and commercial incentives, intending to catalyze value creation and employment.
Sustainability and Circular Economy Focus
The collaboration highlights a strong commitment to sustainability. CMR Green Technologies utilizes cutting-edge technologies that result in recycled metal production achieving up to 95% lower emissions compared to primary metal production.
Mr. Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, stated that the partnership will play a pivotal role in building a future-ready, innovation-driven zinc ecosystem, reinforcing domestic value addition and circular economy practices.
