Hemisphere Properties Update on Ongoing Litigation Disposals

Hemisphere Properties India Limited announced updates regarding the disposal of ongoing litigation. A case regarding land compensation payable by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was disposed of in favor of Union of India & Others. Additionally, the Hon’ble High Court of Madras allowed an appeal filed by Hemisphere Properties, remanding the matter back to the Trial Court for further proceedings.

Land Compensation Case Update

A case bearing LAC No. 04-2014, renumbered as LAC No. 19-2016, titled Union of India & Others vs. Tata Communications Ltd., has been disposed of as of January 31, 2026. The case, which was pending before the District Court of Saket, Delhi, involved matters pertaining to compensation payable by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited concerning land situated at Greater Kailash, New Delhi.

Second Appeal Update

The Hon’ble High Court of Madras has allowed the Second Appeal No. 935/2024 filed by Hemisphere Properties India Limited vs. P. Venkata Rao, as of January 29, 2025. The detailed order is currently awaited. This appeal challenged an order dated April 12, 2024, which was previously passed by the first appellate court. The matter has now been remanded back to the Trial Court for further proceedings in the original suit, which was initially dismissed on February 11, 2011.
