Four major NGOs will receive ₹5 crore ($537,000) each for transformative projects across Water, Biodiversity, Health, and Education categories. An additional eight NGOs will receive ₹50 lakh ($53,700) each for their initiatives.
HCLTech Grant Unveils 11th Edition Winners
HCLFoundation, driving the corporate social responsibility agenda for HCLTech, today, March 20, 2026, declared the recipients of the 11th edition of the HCLTech Grant. The total grant outlay has been increased to ₹24 crore (approx. $2.58 million) to support innovative and transformative projects undertaken by Indian NGOs focusing on Water, Biodiversity, Healthcare, and Education.
Top Four Grant Recipients (₹5 Crore Each)
Four non-government organizations (NGOs) have been selected to receive ₹5 crore (approx. $537,000) each for their high-impact proposed projects:
- Water Category: Gramin Vikas Vigyan Samiti (GRAVIS), Rajasthan, for enhancing water harvesting in 10 villages in the Thar desert.
- Biodiversity Category: Live Foundation, Jharkhand, for reviving forest ecosystems through community-led conservation in 50 villages.
- Health Category: Goodwill Foundation, Mizoram, to improve healthcare access in 40 villages in Mamit district.
- Education Category: Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti, Rajasthan, to promote gender equality through holistic education in 30 villages in Ajmer district.
Eight Additional Project Grants
Eight other meritorious NGOs were also awarded ₹50 lakh (~$53,700) each for their projects across the four themes. Notable recipients include:
- Water: Leh Nutrition Project (Ladakh) and Watershed Organisation Trust (Madhya Pradesh).
- Biodiversity: Regional Centre for Development Cooperation (Odisha) and South Asian Forum for Environment (SAFE, West Bengal).
- Health: EKJUT (Jharkhand) and Utkarsh Welfare Foundation (Uttar Pradesh).
- Education: Shri Bhuvneshwari Mahila Ashram (Uttarakhand) and Youth Council for Development Alternatives (Odisha).
Impact and Selection Process
Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Director, HCLFoundation, remarked that the grant has been a catalyst for change, empowering NGOs to solve complex social issues. Over the past decade, HCLTech Grant-supported projects have uplifted 2.2 million lives across 60,000+ villages, resulting in the planting of 177,000 saplings and a reduction of 67,095 tons in CO2 emissions.
For this edition, a distinguished jury reviewed 7,274 registrations. The jury included figures such as Roshni Nadar Malhotra (Chairperson, HCLTech) and Robin Ann Abrams (Jury Chair).
