International Expansion into Nepal Announced

On 26th February, 2026, Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM), the electric mobility business of Greaves Cotton Limited (GCL), declared its strategic international expansion into Nepal. This move is executed in partnership with STC Auto Solution Private Limited as part of GEM’s broader strategic growth journey.

Flagship Product Launch: Ampere Nexus

The launch centers on GEM’s flagship product, the Ampere Nexus electric scooter. This model is notable for being India’s first E2W recognized by the Asia Book of Records for successfully navigating the highly challenging Kolli Hills route, comprising 70 hairpin bends. The Nexus is specifically engineered to meet Nepal’s demanding mobility requirements, including steep gradients, uneven roads, and high-altitude temperature variations.

Mr. Vikas Singh, MD and CFO of Greaves Electric Mobility, highlighted that the scooter’s success in conquering both Kolli Hills and Shipki La Pass at an altitude of 13,200 ft underscores its durability and reliability for the Nepali market.

Engineering for Challenging Terrain

The Ampere Nexus is equipped with a LFP battery, ensuring smooth acceleration, confident uphill climbs, and stable ride setup. Key technology features include:

  • A large 7-inch TFT touchscreen with Nex.io for full-screen map mirroring and real-time navigation assistance (turn-by-turn directions, ETA).
  • Support for call connectivity and real-time vehicle monitoring.
  • The Ampere Connect Companion app for smart pairing, tracking, and battery health monitoring.

GEM plans to steadily expand its presence across other markets in Nepal in the near future, reinforcing its commitment to terrain-ready, sustainable urban mobility in the region.
