Great Eastern Shipping Takes Delivery of Very Large Gas Carrier ‘Jag Vijay’

Great Eastern Shipping Company has taken delivery of the 2015 built Very Large Gas Carrier ‘Jag Vijay’, with a capacity of about 84,048 cbm on January 16, 2026. The company had previously contracted to purchase this vessel in Q3 FY26, financed entirely through internal accruals. The current fleet consists of 40 vessels, with capacity utilization near 100%.

New Vessel Delivery

Great Eastern Shipping (GE Shipping) announced the delivery of the 2015 South Korean built Very Large Gas Carrier “Jag Vijay” on January 16, 2026. The vessel has a capacity of approximately 84,048 cbm. The purchase, initially contracted in Q3 FY26, was fully financed through the company’s internal resources.

Fleet Overview

The company’s current fleet comprises 40 vessels, encompassing 26 Tankers (5 Crude Tankers, 16 Product Tankers, and 5 LPG Carriers) and 14 Dry Bulk Carriers (2 Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, and 2 Supramax), with an aggregate of 3.22 mn dwt. The current capacity utilization rate is close to 100%.

Additional Transactions

Great Eastern Shipping has also entered into agreements to purchase one secondhand Ultramax Dry Bulk Carrier and one secondhand Medium Range Tanker. Concurrently, the company plans to sell one Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier, “Jag Aarati”, and one Very Large Gas Carrier, “Jag Vishnu”. These transactions are anticipated to be finalized in Q4 FY26.
