The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited announced on December 26, 2025, that it has entered into an agreement to sell its Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC), named Jag Vishnu.
Details of the Transaction
The Jag Vishnu, a vessel built in 2002, has a capacity of approximately 77,922 cbm. The buyer is an unaffiliated third party, and the transaction is expected to be completed with the delivery of the vessel in Q4 FY26.
Fleet Composition
Post the sale of Jag Vishnu, Great Eastern Shipping’s owned fleet will comprise 39 vessels. This includes 25 tankers (5 Crude Tankers, 16 Product Tankers, and 4 LPG Carriers) and 14 Dry Bulk Carriers (2 Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, and 2 Supramax), aggregating 3.17 Mn dwt.
Additional Transactions
In addition to the sale of Jag Vishnu, the company has also contracted to purchase one secondhand Very Large Gas Carrier and one secondhand Ultramax Dry Bulk Carrier. Furthermore, they plan to sell one Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier named Jag Aarati. These transactions are also anticipated to be completed in Q4 FY26.
