Grasim Industries has announced a change in its senior management. Mr. Satyaki Ghosh has resigned as CEO of Cellulosic Fashion Yarn Business, effective January 16, 2026. Mr. Ajit Rajagopalan, currently CEO of Insulators Business, will take on the additional role of CEO – Cellulosic Fashion Yarn, effective January 17, 2026. He will manage an enlarged portfolio encompassing both businesses.

Resignation of Mr. Satyaki Ghosh
Mr. Satyaki Ghosh has resigned from his position as CEO – Cellulosic Fashion Yarn Business, effective at the close of business hours on January 16, 2026. He is stepping down to pursue opportunities outside of the company. Ghosh joined Grasim in December 2016, and successfully led the Domestic Textiles business before taking on his current role in December 2024.
Appointment of Mr. Ajit Rajagopalan
Mr. Ajit Rajagopalan will assume the role of CEO – Cellulosic Fashion Yarn Business, effective January 17, 2026, in addition to his existing responsibilities as CEO of the Insulators Business. He will also serve as Senior Management Personnel of the company. Rajagopalan’s responsibilities will expand to encompass the Insulators Business.
Before his current role, he served as Head of India Manufacturing Operations at Birla Carbon. He joined Aditya Birla Group in 2007, and he moved to Birla Carbon in 2012 where he handled diverse roles in Business Development and Manufacturing Operations until 2021.
