The company is committed to supporting the affected families with financial assistance of ₹46 lakh, job security, continued education for children, and extended pension benefits. Tragic Incident at Siltara Plant
On September 26, 2025, an unfortunate accident occurred at Godawari Power & Ispat Limited’s (GPIL) Siltara plant, resulting in the loss of six colleagues. Six other employees sustained injuries during the incident.
Employee Status
Of the injured, one employee has been discharged after receiving medical treatment. The remaining five are currently under the supervision of specialist doctors; three are being treated for superficial burn injuries and two for slightly spread burn injuries. The employees under treatment/ discharged are:
- Mr. Moutu Yadav
- Mr. Diptendra
- Mr. Jayprakash Verma
- Mr. Pawan Kumar
- Mr. Chandra Prakash
- Mr. Chakerdhar Rao (discharged)
Notably, all injured employees are out of danger.
Commitment to Affected Families
Godawari Power & Ispat Limited has extended financial assistance of approximately ₹46 lakh to the families of the deceased. The company has also committed to the following:
- Job Security: Employment will be provided to an eligible family member, wherever possible.
- Pension Benefits: For families without employable members, pension benefits will be extended up to the age of 62 in certain cases.
- Education Support: Children’s education will continue without disruption. GPIL will reimburse school/tuition fees and make provisions for higher education.
