Global Health Board Approves Mumbai Hospital Expansion & Residential Acquisition

Global Health’s board has approved expanding its Mumbai hospital project from 500 to 750 beds, following additional FSI approval. The board also greenlit acquiring 30 residential flats near the hospital for staff accommodation, with an investment of up to ₹85 Crores. Consequently, the total Mumbai project cost increases to ₹1530 Crores, up from the earlier ₹1200 Crores.

Mumbai Hospital Capacity Boost

Global Health will increase the bed capacity of its planned Mumbai hospital. Originally slated for 500 beds, the project will now accommodate 750 beds after receiving additional Floor Space Index (FSI) approval from the Mumbai Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). Details relating to the added capacity are enclosed in the company’s filings.

Residential Flats Acquisition

The board has also approved the acquisition of 30 residential flats in a building under construction near the Mumbai hospital. This acquisition, with an investment of up to ₹85 Crores, aims to provide residential accommodation for clinicians and other key staff. This is a strategic move to attract and retain talent for the new facility.

Project Cost Update

As a result of the increased bed capacity and the residential flat acquisition, the total project cost for the Mumbai hospital is now estimated at ₹1530 Crores. This represents an increase from the previously projected cost of ₹1200 Crores.
