[Garden Reach]: Signs MoUs for Shipbuilding and Infrastructure Projects

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with strategic partners to boost its presence in shipbuilding, port, and infrastructure sectors. These agreements aim to support India’s goal of becoming a top shipbuilding nation by 2047. The MoUs will facilitate collaborative projects, contributing to maritime self-reliance and sustainable solutions.

Strategic Partnerships Forged

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has entered into a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with key strategic partners. These collaborations aim to strengthen GRSE’s position in the shipbuilding, port, and infrastructure sectors, aligning with India’s vision to be a top five shipbuilding nation by 2047. The signing took place at Bhavnagar’s ‘Samudra Se Samriddhi’ Mission.

Collaborative Project Focus

These MoUs establish a framework for GRSE and its partners to jointly pursue and develop projects in various areas, including newbuild construction (with emphasis on green and low-emission vessels), ship repair services, and the construction of green tugs meeting GTTP specifications. The collaborations will also focus on the development and upkeep of port infrastructure, including jetty and berth construction, multimodal logistics solutions, and last-mile connectivity, as well as related civil, rail, and ropeway infrastructure for ports and terminals.

  • Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla
  • Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority, Kolkata (SMPA)
  • Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL)
  • The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI)
  • Modest Infrastructure Private Limited (MIPL)
