GAIL Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline Project Completion Update

GAIL (India) Limited announced a revised completion schedule for the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) project. The entire pipeline is completed; pre-commissioning and commissioning are underway. Gas-in readiness for the remaining MNJPL part is expected by February 2026. The Mumbai-Nagpur Section is already operational. The board approved the extension of the project schedule at a meeting on January 31, 2026.

MNJPL Project Update

GAIL (India) Limited has provided an update on the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) project, outlining the revised completion schedule. The project is currently in the final stages of pre-commissioning and commissioning.

Revised Completion Schedule

The completion schedule has been revised to run progressively from January 1, 2026, to February 28, 2026. This revision reflects the final stages of completion for the project. The pipeline has a total length of 1702 Km, divided into sections:

  • Mumbai – Nagpur Pipeline (Part-A): 693 Km
  • Nagpur- Jharsuguda Pipeline (Part-B): 692 Km
  • Nagpur- Jabalpur Pipeline (Part-C): 317 Km

Project Status and Rationale

The entire MNJPL Pipeline is now complete, with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities ongoing in various sections. The Mumbai-Nagpur Section, along with the Chhattisgarh and Odisha sections of the Nagpur-Jharsuguda section, have already been operationalized.

The remaining portion of the MNJPL is expected to be ready for gas-in by February 2026.
