Project Details and Progress
The MNJPL project spans 1,707 km and traverses four states: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. This initiative aims to enhance the availability of clean fuel to meet the demands of both the CGD and industrial sectors. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has identified 17 Geographical Areas covering 60 districts along this pipeline network.
Construction Status
Pipeline construction has been successfully completed in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh. In Maharashtra, the project is in its final execution stage, with only 11 km of pipeline construction remaining. To date, 1,440 km of the pipeline is prepared for gas-in.
Approval and Future Outlook
The decision to target full commissioning by December 31, 2025, was approved by GAIL’s Board of Directors during a meeting held on September 24, 2025. With construction work rapidly nearing completion in Maharashtra, GAIL (India) Limited remains optimistic about achieving its commissioning target.
