GAIL (India) Limited has announced a revision in the completion schedule for the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) project. The project, with a total length of 1702 Km, is now expected to be progressively completed by December 31, 2025. This revision is primarily due to pending site inspection permissions for certain sections of the pipeline. The Mumbai-Nagpur section is mechanically complete with permissions awaited, and work continues on other sections.

GAIL (India) Limited has revised the completion schedule for its Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) project. The revised completion date is now set for December 31, 2025.
Project Details and Status
The Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline project consists of the following sections:
Total Pipeline Length: 1702 Km
- Mumbai – Nagpur Pipeline (Part-A): 693 Km – Mechanically completed. PESO site inspection completed, permission awaited.
- Nagpur- Jharsuguda Pipeline (Part-B): 692 Km – 489 Km in Odisha and Chhattisgarh is mechanically completed and ready for Gas-in. PESO site inspection completed, permission awaited.
- Nagpur- Jabalpur Pipeline (Part-C): 317 Km
Section-Wise Progress
The project is progressing in phases. Here’s a breakdown of the status of each pipeline section:
- Maharashtra (203 Km): Pipeline work of around 9 Km is balance. The work is under progress and expected to be ready for Gas-in by December, 2025.
- Madhya Pradesh (255 Km): The Nagpur – Jabalpur pipeline is mechanically completed.
- Maharashtra (62 Km): Pipeline work of around 1.8 Km is balance and is expected to be completed by October, 2025.
The entire Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline is now expected to be completed progressively by 31st December 2025.
