GAIL has announced a revision in the completion schedule for the Srikakulam Angul Pipeline Project. The expected completion date has been shifted from December 2025 to June 2026. The mainline (422 Km) is commissioned. The delay is due to forest permission for 56 Km length of the spur line (322 Km), where tree cutting is in progress.
Srikakulam Angul Pipeline Project Update
GAIL (India) Limited has revised the completion schedule for its Srikakulam Angul Pipeline Project. The project, which consists of both a main pipeline and a spur line, now has a revised completion target of June 2026.
Pipeline Details
The total length of the pipeline project is 744 Km. This includes a main pipeline of 422 Km and a spur pipeline of 322 Km.
Rationale for Revision
The entire mainline of 422 Km has already been commissioned as of September 26, 2025. However, the spur line (322 Km) has faced delays. 280 Km of the spur line is complete. The remaining pipeline work was affected due to delays in obtaining forest working permission for a 56 Km length. The necessary permissions were received progressively until June 23, 2025, and subsequent tree cutting permission sequentially up to September 2025. Tree cutting is currently in progress.
