Emami Limited Strategic Acquisition of Axiom Ayurveda to Enter Beverage Sector

Emami Limited has announced a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining 73.5% stake in Axiom Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd., marking its formal entry into the high-growth beverage sector. With an investment of up to Rs. 200 crore, the acquisition is expected to close within three months. Axiom, known for the AloFrut brand, is a profitable entity with a projected topline of approximately Rs. 180 crore in FY26.

Strategic Expansion into Beverages

Emami Limited is diversifying its consumer portfolio by moving into the health and wellness beverage market. Having held a 26.5% stake previously, the company has executed a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining 73.5% of Axiom Ayurveda. The board-approved transaction is valued at a maximum consideration of Rs. 200 crore and will be completed in phases over the next three months.

Portfolio and Market Synergies

The acquisition centers on Axiom’s flagship brand, AloFrut, which specializes in aloe vera-based fruit juice blends. Beyond this, the company’s portfolio includes Axiom Jeevan Ras (health juices) and Mukti Gold (beauty products). This move aligns with Emami’s strategy of leveraging new-age, synergistic categories to complement its core personal care and healthcare business.

Leadership and Growth Outlook

To spearhead this new chapter, Axiom has appointed Mr. Harkirat Bedi, formerly of Dabur Nepal, as the Chief Executive Officer. Emami leadership noted that the integration is designed to scale Axiom’s operations and capitalize on the growing consumer preference for non-carbonated, healthy alternatives. The business is expected to contribute to Emami’s growth trajectory, with a projected revenue of Rs. 180 crore for the current fiscal year, FY26.
