Delhivery Accelerates Last-Mile Electrification with Strategic EV Deployment Across India

Delhivery Limited announced a strategic partnership with RIDEV (ANV Web Ventures Pvt Ltd) to deploy 150 high-performance electric vehicles (EVs) across North East India, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad over the next three months. This initiative is a crucial step in the company’s roadmap to scale green logistics and systematically decarbonize its urban delivery network. A successful pilot already achieved a 4,260 Kg CO2 reduction and lowered daily operational costs for riders by over 50%.

Delhivery Partners to Scale Green Logistics

Delhivery Limited (NSE: DELHIVERY, BSE: 543529) has announced a major strategic partnership with electric mobility startup RIDEV (ANV Web Ventures Pvt Ltd). The objective is to accelerate the electrification of its last-mile fleet through the deployment of 150 high-performance electric vehicles (EVs).

This initial deployment is scheduled over the next three months and will target key regions including North East India, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. This move is positioned as a significant step toward achieving the company’s roadmap for green logistics.

Introducing ‘EV-as-a-Service’ Model

The collaboration introduces a specialized “EV-as-a-Service” leasing model. This framework is specifically designed to accelerate the transition for Delhivery’s delivery partners by eliminating high upfront costs and technical barriers. The goal is to make the shift to electrified last-mile operations both seamless and financially lucrative for the gig workforce.

Delhivery already utilizes a substantial EV fleet, having integrated close to 1,000 electric two, three, and four-wheelers in recent years. This new partnership signals a decisive move toward the nationwide, systematic replacement of traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles.

Proven Success in Pilot Phase

The initiative builds upon a successful pilot conducted in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, where the transition to RIDEV’s electric two-wheelers yielded substantial environmental and economic benefits. The pilot resulted in a reduction of 4,260 Kg of CO2 and lowered daily operational costs for riders by more than 50%.

Decarbonization Roadmap Expansion

This initiative forms a critical component of Delhivery’s strategy to systematically decarbonize its urban delivery network. Following the current rollout, the company plans a phased expansion targeting major hubs such as Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Goa, aiming to eliminate tailpipe emissions and align with India’s PM E-DRIVE objectives.

Executive Commentary on Sustainability

Prashant Gazipur, Senior Vice President of Last Mile Operations at Delhivery, described the partnership as a “transformative step” toward sustainable last-mile operations. He emphasized that providing delivery partners with a low-friction entry into electric mobility advances carbon neutrality goals while significantly enhancing riders’ economic well-being through reduced operational overheads.

Manish Kumar Jain, Founder of RIDEV, stated that integrating their tech-backed fleet accelerates the transition to green logistics. He added that their platform allows riders to concentrate on performance while RIDEV manages the complexities of energy and maintenance.
