ECH Plant Commissioning

DCM Shriram announced the successful commissioning of its Epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant with a capacity of 35,000 TPA. The plant is located within the company’s chemical complex in Jhagadia, Bharuch District, Gujarat. The commissioning was completed on October 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm.

Future Capacity

The balance capacity of the plant, which amounts to 17,000 TPA, is expected to be commissioned shortly, further enhancing the plant’s total production capabilities.

Strategic Significance of ECH

ECH is a critical link between the existing Chlor-alkali business and the production of advanced materials. It serves as a chlorine-downstream product and as a key raw material in the production of liquid epoxy resins, thus integrating and strengthening DCM Shriram’s value chain.

Environmentally Friendly Technology

Unlike many other plants that use propylene, this state-of-the-art plant uses glycerine, a by-product of the Bio-diesel production process, making it a greener alternative. The use of cutting-edge European technology further enhances the environmental benefits and efficiency of the plant.
