Cyient Strategic Partnership with Navitas for GaN Adoption in India

Cyient Semiconductors and Navitas Semiconductor have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of GaN (gallium nitride) technology in India. The collaboration aims to establish a complete, end-to-end GaN ecosystem targeting high-growth sectors such as AI, mobility, industrial, and energy markets. This partnership supports the ‘Make in India’ initiative and seeks to drive semiconductor innovation and localization.

Strategic Alliance for GaN Technology

Cyient Semiconductors and Navitas Semiconductor have announced a strategic, long-term partnership focused on advancing GaN technology adoption within India. This partnership, announced on December 8, 2025, aims to create an end-to-end GaN ecosystem. The collaboration will co-develop GaN products, digital and mixed signal ICs, GaN-based system modules, and design enablement platforms.

Targeting Key Growth Sectors

The partnership will focus on India’s high voltage, high power market segments, including AI data centers, electric mobility, performance computing, energy grid infrastructure, and industrial electrification. The collaboration seeks to build a local supply chain and manufacturing ecosystem to support the Indian Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Impact and Future Plans

Navitas and Cyient Semiconductor aim to deploy IC technology in accelerating solution development for high voltage and high-power markets. This will include products based on Navitas’ existing GaN technologies and new products tailored for India’s unique market needs. Cyient Semiconductors’ work will focus on establishing a secure local supply chain and ecosystem for GaN products in India, with the aim to accelerate time-to-market for developers and OEMs across the region.

Leadership Statements

Suman Narayan, CEO, Cyient Semiconductors, stated that the partnership represents a pivotal step in solving the complexities of power delivery at high voltages and will create a self-sustaining ecosystem for GaN adoption. Chris Allexandre, President and CEO of Navitas, believes the growth of GaN technology in India will exceed global trends, powering India’s vision of innovation, by India, for the world.

Empowering Local Design and Manufacturing

This initiative is intended to empower Indian design houses and OEMs with locally sourced GaN components and manufacturing support. This aims to enable faster development cycles and reducing barriers to GaN adoption in India, reinforcing Cyient Semiconductors’ ambition to drive semiconductor innovation, localization, and scalability across critical technology sectors.
