Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Svitzer, Denmark, for the construction of new generation electric TRAnsverse tugs in CSL. The LOI, signed on October 30, 2025, during India Maritime Week 2025, marks a step towards decarbonizing towage and advancing India’s maritime industry towards a low carbon future, aligning with Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
Electric Tug Collaboration
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Svitzer, Denmark, to construct new generation electric TRAnsverse tugs in CSL. The signing took place on October 30, 2025, during the India Maritime Week 2025, organized by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India in Mumbai.
