Coal India Limited (CIL) has disclosed its provisional production and off-take performance for February 2026, along with cumulative figures for the period April 2025 to February 2026. Overall coal production for February 2026 stood at 74.7 Million Tonnes (MT), marking a 0.7% growth year-on-year. However, cumulative production saw a slight dip of 1.7% over the 11-month period, totaling 683.7 MT.

Coal Production Analysis (Figs in Mill Tonnes)
In February 2026, total coal production reached 74.7 MT, reflecting a marginal positive growth of 0.7% compared to the same month last year (74.1 MT). Strong performers in the month included NCL (11.2 MT, up 2.1%) and SECL (18.1 MT, up 2.7%).
For the cumulative period of Apr’25 – Feb’26, total production was 683.7 MT, showing a decrease of 1.7% against the previous year’s 695.3 MT. SECL demonstrated robust year-to-date growth at 7.0%, producing 156.8 MT.
Offtake Performance Details (Figs in Mill Tonnes)
Coal offtake for February 2026 was recorded at 62.0 MT, resulting in a decline of 1.5% compared to the previous year’s 62.9 MT. The cumulative offtake for Apr’25 – Feb’26 stood at 674.6 MT, which is a decrease of 2.8% compared to the 694.1 MT achieved in the corresponding period last year.
Within the monthly offtake figures, SECL showed significant positive momentum with 11.0% growth (16.1 MT), while several subsidiaries experienced declines, including BCCL (-28.8%) and WCL (-21.4%).
