CESC Limited Announces Investors Update for Q3 FY26

CESC Limited has released its investor update for Q3 FY26. Consolidated revenue for 9MFY26 increased by 10.4% to Rs 14,735 Cr, while consolidated PBT rose to Rs 1,466 Cr. The company aims for 3.2GW renewable energy capacity by FY29, scaling up to 10GW by FY32. Significant progress has been made into renewable energy with focus on hybrid and FDRE bids.

Financial Performance Highlights

CESC Limited reported the following key financial highlights:

  • Consolidated revenue in 9MFY26 increased by 10.4% to Rs 14,735 Cr, with Consolidated PBT increasing to Rs 1,466 Cr.
  • For Q3 FY26, revenue increased by 12% to Rs 4,099 Cr, and Consolidated PBT reached Rs 385 Cr.

Subsidiary performance includes:

  • NPCL reported sales of 820 MU during Q3 FY26, a 6% YoY growth, with revenue increasing by 9.4% YoY to Rs 673 Cr and EBITDA increasing to Rs 103 Cr.
  • Chandigarh Power (CPDL) reported revenue of Rs 234 Cr, EBITDA of Rs 12 Cr, and PAT of Rs 5 Cr for the quarter ended December 2025 (Q3 FY26).

Renewable Energy Expansion

CESC is focused on expanding its renewable energy portfolio. Key updates include:

  • Aiming for 3.2GW renewable energy capacity by FY29 and scaling it up to 10GW by FY32.
  • Purvah Green secured two projects: a 300 MW Solar + BESS Project and a 180 MW Railways (REMC) RTC RE Project.

Renewable Project Status

Significant progress is underway in renewable energy projects:

  • Target to fully commission 1st Phase of 3,200 MW by March 2029.
  • Connectivity for 3.9 GW secured for high solar/wind states.
  • 3,531 acres acquired for solar projects, with 600 MW in EPC mode.
  • 484 acres acquired for wind projects, with agreements signed for 3,500 MW of wind projects.
  • 132 acres acquired for BESS projects, with BESS procurement under discussion.

Distribution Performance

CESC serves more than 4.8 million customers with 4.4 GW+ power across 1,454 Sq. KM area.

  • Kolkata: Units Sold (MU)*: 11,857 and Revenue: Rs 9,765 Cr.
  • Greater Noida: Units Sold (MU)*: 3,598 and Revenue: Rs 2,777 Cr.

Cell and Module Manufacturing

CESC is strategically entering cell and module manufacturing:

  • Setting up a Solar cell & Module Manufacturing Ecosystem.
  • Secured LOI from the UP Govt. for allotment of 100 acres in Greater Noida.
  • Cell lines are scheduled for commissioning in 2027.
