CESC Green Power Unit Secures Approval for 3 GW Solar Manufacturing Facility

CESC Green Power Limited, a subsidiary of CESC, has received in-principle approval to establish a manufacturing facility in Odisha with an investment of approximately ₹4,500 crores. The facility will manufacture 3 GW of solar cells and modules, along with advanced battery storage. This project aims to boost renewable energy production capabilities, marking a significant expansion in green power infrastructure.

Manufacturing Capacity

The new facility will focus on manufacturing:

  • 3 GW Solar Cells
  • 3 GW Solar Modules
  • Advanced chemistry battery cell pack of 5GWh
  • 60 MW AC captive power plant

Investment

The project in Dhenkanal district is expected to draw an investment of approximately ₹4,500 crores. The project will be executed in three phases.
