Castrol India Leadership Transition – New Interim CEO Appointed

Castrol India has announced that Mr. Kedar Lele will step down as Managing Director effective December 31, 2025. Mr. Saugata Basuray will take on the role of Interim CEO from January 1, 2026. Basuray will hold the position until a new Managing Director is appointed. The company is undergoing a leadership transition.

Managing Director Resignation

Mr. Kedar Lele will be stepping down from his position as Managing Director of Castrol India. The change will take effect at the close of business on December 31, 2025. He is resigning to pursue other opportunities.

Interim CEO Appointment

Effective January 1, 2026, Mr. Saugata Basuray will assume the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer. He will hold this position until a permanent Managing Director is appointed.

Mr. Basuray will take on the additional responsibilities of Interim CEO while continuing in his existing role as Wholetime Director & Head B2C Sales. His official designation will then be ‘Wholetime Director & Interim CEO’ starting January 1, 2026.

Saugata Basuray: Profile Overview

Mr. Saugata Basuray has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business leadership. He has worked in four countries across two continents, acquiring extensive experience in diverse markets. Earlier, he was Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of Castrol India and Regional Vice President bp. Mr. Basuray also led Castrol Philippines from 2013 to 2017 and managed Castrol’s joint venture in Indonesia. Currently, he heads the B2C business segment at Castrol India.
