Blue Star’s Board of Directors has approved several changes to its leadership, including the completion of Mr. Sam Balsara’s tenure as an Independent Director effective January 31, 2026. The board also approved the re-appointment of Mr. B Thiagarajan as Managing Director and the appointment of Mr. Mohit Sud and Mr. M S Unnikrishnan as Additional Directors, aiming to bolster the company’s strategic leadership.

The Board of Directors at Blue Star has approved a series of key changes within its directorate, impacting both executive and non-executive roles. These decisions were made during a meeting held on January 29, 2026.
Independent Director’s Tenure Completion
Mr. Sam Balsara’s tenure as an Independent Director will conclude on January 31, 2026, marking the end of his second consecutive term. The board has acknowledged his contributions over the years.
Re-appointment of Managing Director
Mr. B Thiagarajan has been re-appointed as the Managing Director for a further term, effective from April 1, 2026, to May 24, 2027. His re-appointment is subject to shareholder approval.
Additional Director Appointments
The board has also approved the appointment of Mr. Mohit Sud as an Additional Director, designated as an Executive Director – Unitary Cooling Products. His term will commence on April 1, 2026, for a period of five years. Additionally, Mr. M S Unnikrishnan has been appointed as an Additional Director, serving as an Independent Director for a five-year term starting January 29, 2026. These appointments are subject to shareholder approval.

Mr. B Thiagarajan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has more than four decades of experience and has been with Blue Star since 1998. He currently oversees Air Conditioning and Refrigeration business operations in India.
Mr. Mohit Sud is a Mechanical Engineer with an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur. He has over two decades of experience at Hindustan Unilever, managing various Sales & Marketing roles.
Mr. M S Unnikrishnan is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from VNIT, Nagpur, and is the CEO of IITB-Monash Research Academy. He previously held the position of Managing Director & CEO of Thermax Group for over 13 years.
