Birla Corporation Stamp Duty Orders Received for Mining Leases

Birla Corporation has received orders from the Collector of Stamps, Satna, Madhya Pradesh, regarding a deficit in stamp duty and registration fees for mining leases held by RCCPL Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary. The total demand related to both Sadhera and Bandhi Gorwai mines amounts to ₹9,67,42,003. The company is planning to appeal against these orders.

Stamp Duty Deficit Orders

Birla Corporation has been notified of orders pertaining to stamp duty and registration fees for mining leases held by its wholly-owned material subsidiary, RCCPL Private Limited. The orders, issued by the Collector of Stamps, Satna, Madhya Pradesh, concern the Sadhera and Bandhi Gorwai Limestone Mines.

Details of Demand

The orders allege a deficit in the payment of stamp duty and registration fees at the time of registration of the mining leases. The demands are as follows:

Sadhera Mines

  • Stamp Duty Deficit: ₹4,91,51,760
  • Registration Amount Deficit: ₹3,36,93,864
  • Total Demand Amount: ₹8,28,45,624

Bandhi Gorwai Mines

  • Stamp Duty Deficit: ₹82,47,201
  • Registration Amount Deficit: ₹56,49,178
  • Total Demand Amount: ₹1,38,96,379

The total demand for both mines is ₹9,67,42,003.

Company’s Response

Birla Corporation believes that the demands are not justified and is in the process of preparing an appeal against the orders. The orders were received on January 21, 2026.
