Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced a key development concerning its High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link project. The project focuses on designing and executing an HVDC link along with related AC substations to facilitate the transmission of renewable energy from Bhadla III (Rajasthan) and Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh).
Details of Novation Agreement
During the course of the project, Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited (RPPTL) proposed to transfer its obligations under the contracts to AESL Projects Limited (APL). Following this proposal, BHEL, along with its consortium partner and other relevant parties, executed a Novation Agreement on November 14, 2025.
Impact of the Agreement
With the consent of the Consortium, APL has now assumed all rights and obligations previously held by RPPTL under the project contracts. This transfer ensures the continuity and smooth execution of the HVDC link project. Other terms and conditions for the project remain unchanged.
