Bharti Airtel has announced a major network infrastructure boost in UP East, deploying over 4,300 new 5G sites over the past 12 months. The expansion covers 48 districts and serves approximately 34 million people. This strategic initiative aims to provide enhanced high-speed connectivity to urban, rural, and semi-urban communities, while also introducing a new ₹399 unlimited data recharge pack to further support digital accessibility in the region.
Strengthening Digital Connectivity
Bharti Airtel is scaling up its presence in Uttar Pradesh East, completing a massive deployment of more than 4,300 5G sites within a year. By adding an average of 12 new sites daily, the telecom provider has significantly increased its network density. This infrastructure project spans 48 districts, ensuring better coverage for millions of citizens across urban centers, growing towns, and remote rural villages.
Strategic Focus on Regional Growth
Key cities benefiting from this expanded footprint include Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, and Jhansi. According to Amit Gupta, CEO of Bharti Airtel, UP East, this expansion is part of a broader commitment to building a resilient digital backbone that fosters growth and innovation across the region. The infrastructure is designed to support the everyday needs of students, micro-entrepreneurs, and enterprises, ensuring consistent performance for digital services.
Enhanced Customer Offerings
To complement the network expansion, Airtel has introduced a new ₹399 recharge pack aimed at smartphone users. This plan offers unlimited 4G and 5G data for 28 days, along with unlimited calling. The move is designed to encourage seamless digital consumption, including streaming and remote work, across both high-mobility zones and deeper rural corridors.
