The agreement was officially announced on October 29, 2025, highlighting Bharti Airtel’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. This move is designed to support the energy needs of Nxtra Data’s operations.

The acquisition involves 51,92,000 equity shares, representing a 35% stake in AMPIN Energy C&I Sixteen. AMPIN Energy C&I Sixteen is a special purpose vehicle established to own and operate a Captive Power Plant. The investment is driven by the regulatory requirement for captive power consumption under electricity laws, ensuring that Nxtra Data complies with all applicable regulations while also promoting the use of renewable energy.

AMPIN Energy C&I Sixteen Overview

AMPIN Energy C&I Sixteen is focused on developing, constructing, and operating a 13.2 MW solar power plant located in Maharashtra. The plant will supply green power to Nxtra Data Limited via intrastate network. Operations are expected to commence by Q4 of FY 2025-26. Formed on March 18, 2023, AMPIN Energy C&I Sixteen aims to bolster the availability of renewable energy in the region.

Financial Considerations

The total cost of acquisition is INR 5,19,20,000, which translates to INR 10 per share. This investment is intended to improve the cost-effectiveness of energy procurement for Nxtra Data, aligning with broader sustainability goals.
